Dawn on the Run

My home away from home (my other blog) and an experimental blog to learn how blogger.com works. Being a geek I just want to learn more. I have another blog that's all about my running and other things in my life but will post stuff here too.

Back up, Sort of

It seems I got part of my Christmas wish in that the website, that is mine and the completerunning.com site as well as many of my friends sites are now back up and running. So yes you can go back to visiting me at my other site. There is however one tiny little problem. I can log in but I cannot get to where I need to be to write my posts. I get lost in limbo somewhere.

It says I'm logged in but I never really make it there. Oddly enough I can use my ftp access to upload photos etc, but that's it. So that's what I mean by "Sort of".

Oh well, I still say thanks to Mark and gang for all the hard work they've been doing to resolve things when they should be relaxing and enjoying the holiday season with family & friends. Heck not only did Mark spend his time on the web issues, when running today he pushed some poor guy whose battery had died in his riding cart thingy. What a guy!!!

Santa was Here!

Well Santa has come and gone. I got royally spoiled and stuffed. Thankfully one of my presents will soon help me work off the junk I eat through the holidays. Hubby got me all my bike gear - the trainer, the pink/grey/white helmet, a gorgeous pink bike jersey and a gift certificate to buy even more stuff.

Tomorrow I will set it up and pedal my butt in the middle of the living room...lol. Actually its so nice out I should take her for a spin around the block but I have to learn how to use those dang fangled clipless pedals. By the way I did go for a short run today. It was real short. I took the little one and the dog with me. About 1 km into our run the little one says "Granny I have to pee!!" Thankfully the house was only a block away so she sprinted home and I followed behind, as usual.

It's been a long day and so much more to write but alas I'm tired and going to make it an early night. Here's hoping you all got spoiled and stuffed as well.

A Christmas Tag

Tagged for Christmas - Yup more sillyness, but its fun and cute. Jack sent it to me, thanks Jack.

1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate, with Baileys.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa wraps.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Red & Blue.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? I leave it up year round. I like kisses.

5. When do you put your decorations up? The first week of December.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? The Stuffing and sweet potatoes.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Sledding with friends the day after.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was about 9 or 10 and Dad tried to trick us by posing with a neighbor dressed as Santa. But there really is a Santa, right!?!?

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Sometimes.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With lots of silver bows, ribbons and special ornaments. I always give hubby ornaments about his favorite hockey team, the Canadiens or race car driver - Dale Ehrnardt.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? Love it! Especially the big powdery flakes, a skiers heaven. If it ain't cold I even love running in it and making snow angels.

12. Can you ice skate? On my feet or on my rear? I liked Jack's anwer and it works for me too.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Now that's a good question and hard to pick one. Perhaps something under the tree this year will be my new favorite.

14. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you? Giving.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Trifle.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Sleeping late.

20. Candy canes? Pink ones, but only for decoration.

21. Favorite Christmas movie? Elf.

22. What do you leave for Santa? Cookies and a rum & coke.

I'm not sure who hasn't done and well frankly with completerunning.com not up at the moment it was tough to decide just who to pick on, I mean tag but here goes. I'm tagging Jeanne and Nancy. Oops Jeanne's already been tagged, hmmm need someone else, hmmmmmmmmm let's see how about my buddy Mike over on the east coast.

Another Silly Poem

My other website has been waylayed.
If you head over there you will find
This page cannot be displayed.
There are problems of a techie kind.

My host is working hard.
Mark, Aaron and their techie friend
Their looking for the right card
That will bring this problem to an end

In the meantime I'm stuck here
Blogging in limbo land.
If not fixed before the new year
It will be more then I can stand.

*****
Okay that's as far as I got with that one. Told ya it was silly. I know I should be writing about running or swimming but ummm I haven't done any for the last few days and well until I get my blog back I might just be force to write more jibberish and sillyness...lol.

T'is the day before Christmas

T'is the day before Christmas
And it's anything but quiet.
Hubby is playing death metal
And causing quite a riot.

The dogs are chasing each other
and strewing toys everywhere.
While I sit at my PC
Writing silly poetry without a care.

Soon Santa will bring stuff.
I didn't ask for much
Just a bike trainer, helmet,
New jersey and such.

There was one more thing
And it's not just for me,
I want completerunning.com
Back up and problem free.

*****************
Okay enough off the silly poetry. I had to write it twice as my silly computer froze when I was almost done this post and ack I had not saved it. Silly silly me!!! I've still got a ton of stuff to do and my daughter will be here soon with the little one.

Merry Christmas everyone. Everyone of course would be the one or two that have found me over here.

Okay So This Could be My Home Away From Home

It seems completerunning.com has run into some technical difficulties. Which means myself and all my friends that are hosted by them are also unable to access their blogs. This also means of course the site that myself and others write for - completerunning.com is unavailable. It really sucks but I know Mark and others are working really hard to resolve the problems. For now keep checking here or over there and I will let you know when all is well.

Hopefully Santa is listening and grants myself and the rest of the gang our wish - we just want our blogs and the complete running network back up in their fine form. *sigh*

In the meantime just so I don't go through total withdrawl I will try to post the occasional bit over here. I really haven't had a chance to decorate the place much as I usually don't spend much time here. The place could use a little sprucing up and ack there's no Christmas decorations. What's a girl to do. At least its PINK.

Merry Christmas and all the best in 2007.
